Update to the CADD reporting framework

Despite deployment delays related to local supply chain changes — now compounded by the COVID-19 outbreak, we have opted to immediately incorporate changes to the CADD Protocol and reporting architecture. This will facilitate a number of our system integration activities.

Here I present a summary of those changes, ahead of publication on a dedicated website.

CADD 0.8 : “Supplier Onboarding” Reporting Structure

Separating supplier approval from other risk readiness activities has brought several advantages, both in terms of clarity and effectiveness. In particular, it facilitates integration between due diligence systems deployment and risk management (OECD Steps 2 and 3).

CADD 0.8 : “Proof of Risk Readiness” Reporting Structure

While the reporting structure for this component remains unchanged, we have opted to provisionally eliminate the requirement for Auxiliary Information Sources (AIS) in relation to chain of custody. While the involvement of third parties in the operation of traceability system may be imposed by law in certain countries (e.g. ICGLR), it should by no means considered mandatory towards accepting ASM-originating shipments from other CAHRAs.

For consistency purposes, we have added a Supply Chain Audit Summary template. The only CADD input template which is to be completed by receiving smelters or refiners, thereby better reflecting OECD Step 4 requirements.

CADD 0.8 : “Proof of Compliant Reporting” Reporting Structure
