White Supremacy and MAGA

For a few years now (four to be exact), there has been a proliferation of Confederate flags in my community. Interestingly, what many would consider the Confederate flag that we see in present day…

Networking Maximizes Your Potential

Everyone touts the necessity of hard work and personal fulfillment, which yes, are extremely important to achieving whatever you hope for, but the value of networking should not be ignored. Surrounding yourself with people in other skill sets and with other experiences can help propel you to achieve more. One person can only do so much on their own. At some point or another we can use a little nudge from someone else. A lot of us have it in our mind’s that others don’t want to offer help, this has been the complete opposite in my experience. People usually want to be the resource that helps you achieve your goals.

Former politician Tim Hudak capitalized on networking to get his party’s message across and successfully get him elected. Connections are so important to get you in touch with others, it can help you get your voice in front of the right people. He has built long and lasting relationships through this, and not just in the business sector.

All you have to do is make yourself receptive to others. To meet new people, you simply have to go out and meet new people. Find out where these like-minded people will be and spend as much time there as you can. It helps to have an online presence that they can easily reach. Make it apparent that they will provide you value, and make it clear that you can provide them value as well. The more connections you build the more it will snowball into even more.

Not everyone is amazing at engaging strangers in conversation. If you suffer from shyness, nothing can seem more intimidating. Just start off with a basic smile and maintaining a friendly demeanour, everyone is receptive to that. Don’t forget to be yourself, if they see that you are genuine they are more likely to create a concrete bond. A simple trick to use in new conversations is to throw in the person’s name every so often, people enjoy hearing their own name and it also makes it clear that you are engaged by what they are saying. Make sure you bring business cards or get them to follow you on your social media handles so you can remain in contact with them. Don’t be afraid to ask your new connections if they have someone who could assist you or vice versa. Mental preparation for what you want to say and what you want to present can bring a strong level of comfort. Following up is always a necessity, make sure you remain in contact, but don’t overbear them as well. There is definitely an art to it, but like any skill the more you do it the better you’ll be at it. If you start off feeling a little awkward that’s perfectly okay, just keep at it.

It doesn’t matter what field you are in, whether it be in real estate or even something artistic, this is something that can help you progress beyond your own reach. There is someone who is willing to help catapult you into what you want to achieve, it’s just a matter of finding them. Your net worth is determined by your network. Sometimes it isn’t just about what you can do, who you know can greatly benefit you. It’s essentially personal marketing, crafting name recognition is just personal brand awareness.
