What is Web 3.0?

First, let’s try to explain what the web is.

The internet is a network of interconnected computers all housing information. The web is a combination of protocols that enable the computers on the internet to exchange information. Using protocols like HTTP, TCP/IP and others, information could be shared and retrieved amongst these computers. The web has undergone several advancements over the years. These advancements are categorised into 3 stages: Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0. I will attempt to highlight the advancements in each stage.

The distributed nature of these networks comes with its own challenges. One of them is the complexity involved in these networks makes it hard for non-technical users to use the network. This and many more are challenges that are being worked on to enable Web 3.0 to achieve its vision and gain adoption.
